Report crime!

CrimeLet's keep an eye out for each other. With all the car vandalism lately, it's hard to believe no one has seen anything. If you see a crime, report it. If you see kids out after curfew, report it. Patrolling will only increase if we let the police know!

COP Walks with WYPR & the Baltimore Sun

CrimeWe have three exciting walks planned this week starting tonight in Cherry Hill.
City Council President, Shelia Dixon, had to reschedule however, a reporter from
WYPR radio (88.1) was asked by her editor to do a story on the walk so she will join
us. We will meet at 7pm at the Cherry Hill Shopping Center, Cherry Hill Rd., on the
side closest to Terra Firma Rd.

On Wednesday, March 8th our walk through Riverside and South Baltimore will be
accompanied by Baltimore Sun crime reporter Gus Sentementes and (still to be
confirmed) Baltimore City Police Department Commissioner Leonard Hamm. Meet at the
Riverside Park gazebo, 400blk of Randall St. Show the Baltimore Sun why our
successful anti-crime efforts deserved to be recognized - don't miss this walk!

Thursday, March 9th is our patrol in Sharp-Leadenhall/Otterbein. We will start at
the corner of Sharp St. and Henrietta at 7pm. Our last walk through this area was
very inspiring as the problems we had previously reported were fixed. COP really
does work so come out and see for yourself.

The updated walk schedule is below:

CRIME by Shannon Sullivan

CrimeThis is a reminder that crime, no matter how small, does have an impact on our neighborhood and should always be reported to the police. The police department has a saying, “put the cops on the dots”. In each district headquarters there is a detailed map of the area with pins, or dots, that represent where a crime occurred. The dots are crimes that citizens have reported but if you don’t call-in criminal activity there is no dot on their map and no reason for the police to add resources to an area if it appears crime is low. By reporting a crime, something as small as change being stolen from your vehicle, you are giving the police valuable information and the ability to react accordingly. So help out your neighbors and report crime so they can put the “cops on the dots”. Also, thank you to those who have called 311 to remove some of the homeless people in the park. The Deputy Major even went to the park several times himself around 3 a.m. to remove them from the gazebo and the playground. So continue to call as the park should be used for recreation and not a permanent home. Lastly, please join in the highly successful district-wide crime walks. To date 11 arrests have been made because of the walks. If you would like to participate here are the dates and locations of several upcoming patrols. And as always we walk with the police.
